When multi-platinum recording artist and Bay-Area icon Marc E. Bassy left Republic Records in 2018 to start his own
label, New Gold Medal, he did so with the intention of making more personal, groundbreaking music. He accomplished this
feat on 2023's "Folk Hero Funk", written and recorded at Motorbass Studio in Paris, France on the request of his late
friend Virgil Abloh.
