Josh Ballard, known professionally as Btween, was born on January 1st, 1996, in Springfield, Missouri. After spending his first 23 years in Springfield, he now lives in Kansas City, Missouri. With musical roots in a variety of genres, Btween latched onto hip-hop at around 12 years old. He began to write his own hip-hop music at the age of 15, but didn't release his music publicly until the age of 21. Drawing his musical inspiration from a variety of places, he currently credits artists like Kanye West, Isaiah Rashad, Joey Bada$$, Mac Miller, and others for providing him with "juice." After debuting his first EP, "90's Kid", in 2017, he followed it with another EP, "College Boy", in 2018. His most recent project and first ever LP, "The Butterfly", was released in 2021 under Hood Strong Entertainment.
