Some have called Burs "Drone-y Mitchell," an endearing nod to their alternative tunings and layers of ambient sonic wash paired with gorgeously flowing song and disarming lyrics. Significance, Otherness was recorded in an empty church in Toronto, capturing the rawness of live performances in a beautiful space. These laid the beds for layers of experimentation. At its core are songs that feel both familiar and challenging - full of big harmonies, crunchy guitars, propulsive drums and arrangements adorned with world-building textures. Burs are finding their stride with their second album and are poised to become favourites for anyone that will take the time to be immersed in their world.
