"Likely Stories" is a 7" EP of new songs written by Jarvis Cocker (Pulp) for the UK TV series of the same name. The series is based on four short stories by bestselling author Neil Gaiman, and directed by Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard (20,000 Days on Earth). The tracks find Jarvis in narrative mode, working with a variety of guest musicians, including a full women's choir and Adrian Utley of Portishead. He applies his unmistakeable vocal style and intricate lyricism to a series of characters, setting their stories against gorgeous orchestrations and sweeping melodies. "Likely Stories" is the first musical release from Jarvis Cocker since his last solo album, Further Complications, in 2009.
