Cocorosie
The Adventures Of Ghosthorse And St
La Maison de Mon Rêve and Noah's Ark introduced us to CocoRosie's unique, occasionally unsettling and always captivating
musical landscape. From their minimalist beginnings in 2003, as an acoustic folk vocal duo, to their latest live revue
featuring break dancing and French MCs, CocoRosie have consistently evolved and delighted in pushing boundaries and
defying expectations. The Adventures Of Ghosthorse and Stillborn, the third ventricle of the CocoRosie liturgy,
represents another stride onward from their previous works. After completing demos in the south of France, CocoRosie
went to Reykjavik to collaborate with producer Valgeir Sigurdsson, most widely known as Bjork's main studio conspirator.
On Adventures the girls continue to experiment with their disparate voices and clashing personalities, juxtaposing
devastating ballads like "Werewolf" with exhilarating tracks like "Japan" and the jaunty single "Rainbowarriors".
CocoRosie see this album as a departure from their earlier obscured blur of stained glass rêve to what they describe as
"a more self-exploitive memoir." This isn't just the third record from CocoRosie, it's the record that will make you
think twice about CocoRosie. The Adventures of Ghosthorse and Stillborn is a lush, orchestral array of sounds and beauty
- a vaudevillian opera, if you will.
