New York's Eric Copeland, integral member of Black Dice and Terrestrial Tones, is back with a new solo album and an altogether new musical approach. Samples clatter playfully, while wild and wobbly drum breaks hold the arrangements together-barely. Joke in the Hole also marks Copeland's return to DFA, where Black Dice released their seminal 2002 debut Beaches & Canyons-the label's first-ever full-length.
