Cramps, The
Psychedelic Jungle/gravest Hits
The Cramps emerged out of the first wave of punk music in the mid 1970's, frequenting clubs such as CBGB. Led by husband
and wife team Lux Interior and Poison Ivy, this garage
psychobilly band incorporated a unique flair for fusing camp, Link Wray- inspired riffs, B-movies, and bizarre
performances.
Gravest Hits was their debut EP featuring the single "Human Fly."
For the Cramps' second LP, husband and wife team Lux Interior and Poison Ivy brought on guitarist Kid Congo Powers (The
Gun
Club). The band produced the album as well, resulting in a much cleaner sound than previous work. Psychedelic Jungle's
slower
tunes create an even spookier sound than ever before.
