In the fine vodka soaked land of Sweden in the mid 90s, Malmo's Driller Killer arose in the wake of Black Uniforms, Moderat Likvidation and Anti Cimex circa 1993. Brutalize, also recorded in 1993 at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden has become a classic of the genre and it is not surprising this crusty gem is on wax yet again since being pressed as a CD only release on Swedens own Distortion Records back in 1994. To its credit, Distortion served as a pillar if not vital lifeblood source for the d-beat genre during the 90s releasing pivotal works by Wolfpack, Disfear, and Anti Cimex to name but a few. The bands name was derived from Abel Ferraras 1979 film of the same name that has since become a cult classic. Like much of Driller Killer's output, Brutalize is full of brutal vocals, memorable Discharge style songwriting, a ripping guitarist slinging a Gibson Les Paul, and fist-pumping d-beat to the max!
