The bands 8th album, recorded in eight different studios in eight different studios. The album will be previewed in a new HBO documentary series, directed by Dave Grohl called "FOO FIGHTERS: Sonic Highways." The new single, "Something from Nothing" was recorded at Steve Albini's Electrical Audio studio in Chicago. The first episode of "Sonic Highways" is set in Chicago, and features interviews with Steve Albini, Buddy Guy, and Cheap Trick's Rick Nielsen. The rest of the documentary features collaborations and interviews with local artists in each city they visit. Among the artists featured are, Fugazi, LCD Soundsystem, Beastie Boys, Public Enemy, QOTSA, Black Keys, & Willie Nelson.
