The album features an eclectic mix of banjo, clarinet, glockenspiel, mandolin, electric organ, bandoneon, synthesizer and other delightful sounds. Complicated hooks and verbal flourishes that are beautifully delivered by the confident voice of Jack Francis, these are songs written in the them of Victorian twilight (think The Decemberists). Also features John Vanderslice (Mountain Goats) singing on one track and recorded at Tiny Telephone Studio in San Francisco (John Vanderslice's studio). Produced and mixed by Aaron Prellwitz (Death Cab for Cutie, Mountain Goats, Neil young & Crazy Horse). Gorgeous cover art by sacred icon painter Aidan Hart, with a libretto jacket insert.
