Gears, The
Rockin' At Ground Zero
The Gears formed in 1978, in Glassel Park, Los Angeles during California's punk heyday. "Rockin at Ground Zero" recorded in 1980, is one of the best LA punk records ever. The band was known more for a punk, surfabilly/rockabilly sound and played Brendan Mullen's infamous "MASQUE" club and the Hong Kong Cafe in Chinatown along with The Dils, The Weirdos, Go-Go's, & The Germs. The band's first single was "Let's Go To The Beach."
