Chris Montez was 16 years old when he cut his first record, LET'S DANCE and it sold a million. The year was 1962. Born 17th Jan 1946 in Los Angeles and was the 17th child of a family who raised 18. It was a Mexican/American family and Richie Valens lived in the same suburb. The roots of Chris Montez is the same. If you hear the Valens sound from this Chicano singer you're right, Chris Montez really filled the gap after Valens dead.
