So does cover artist Jee-Shaun Wang, whose eye-popping style combines the odd precision of Indonesian carvings with the freewheeling psychedelic aesthetic of underground comix. Pinned in Place can pack into a song with vicious, dueling riffs and an ambiguous plot about someone named "Eliza."
