Pretty Flowers
A Company Sleeve (blue)
'A Company Sleeve' is the sophomore album from Los Angeles-based indie rock band The Pretty Flowers. The Big Takeover
said of The Pretty Flowers, "These Los Angeles hard power-poppers... play '90s style indie-rock that harkens back to
later Replacements, early Weezer, a little Sloan, and quite a bit of Wilco. They have the chops to write great songs."
The album features 12 tracks that showcase the band's loud guitar indie and college rock influences, including Guided By
Voices, Echo & the Bunnymen, Superchunk, and Teenage Fanclub. The album was produced by the band's own Jake Gideon,
engineered by Adam Lasus (Lily's, Yo La Tengo, Madder Rose, and Helium) at Studio Red and mastered by Matthew Barnhart
(Superchunk, Bob Mould, METZ). Punk Rock Theory praised "Baby Food", the album's first single, calling it "a bright and
shiny power-pop meets college rock gem that should have fans of The Replacements and Superchunk giddy with anticipation
for The Pretty Flowers upcoming full-length." American Pancake hailed "Baby Food" as "...a gleefully hyper piece of
punchy rock with touchstones of 90's College Radio jangle pop, late 70's power pop and 80's indie / folk rock." To
ensure a high-fidelity listening experience, the lacquers for A Company Sleeve were cut by Chicago Mastering Service in
Chicago, Illinois and the vinyl was pressed by the amazing team at Cascade Record Pressing in Portland, Oregon. First
pressing of 500 comes on translucent blue (250) and opaque blue (250). Includes 11x17 folded poster of the artwork used
for the album's cover.
