The most delightful shower of reprobates ever to be let loose in an American recording studio, the legendary
Replacements could nevertheless pen the very finest alternative rock anthems and perform shows as enlightening as they
were often shambolic. The superb recording now available on vinyl for the first time comes from the group's gig at The
Chance Club in Poughkeepsie, New York state, on 18th July 1987. With the band working as a trio at the time - only the
ever present Paul Westerberg, Tommy Stinson and Chris Mars were by now in the line-up - and hot on the heels of 'Pleased
To Meet Me', released a month before, The Replacements are in fine form for this unique show. Performing a tantalising
set peppered as ever with a number of choice covers, all rubbing shoulders with some of the 1980s best contemporary
compositions.
