Before Run DMC and Jam Master Jay dropped Raising Hell in 1986 and turned the entire music world on its head, they were
already two albums deep and seasoned veterans of the stage. They were the first rap group to earn a gold album with
their self-titled debut. Their follow-up album King of Rock was the first rap album to go platinum while their third,
Raising Hell sold three million copies and brought Hip-Hop into the mainstream.
