Sferics
Sferics is a great departure for composer/multi instrumentalist Ellott Sharp from teh concept of his recent recording projects with Carbona dn Tectonics. Rather than using a band, samples, or computer processing, Sharp used only his fretless electroacoustic guitar played in real-time - no overdubbing, no treatments, no digital electronics whatsoever. The stark pieces cover a vast range of sonic territory - from complex silvery drones stangely vocal percussive rhythms: from thick textural soundscapes to acerbic and acidic improvisational passages. The timbral vocabulary is unmatched - the syntax is pure Sharp - dancing on the borderline between order and chaos.
