Soul Asylum was formed in Minneapolis in 1983 following in the footsteps of another local Alternative rock band, The Replacements. Soul Asylum loyalists will be happy to discover the groups trademark ragged-but-right sound is still very much intact - clever lyrical turns of phrase, classic rock riffs filtered through punk rock energy, and themes that everyone can relate to.
