At the center of China's burgeoning rock scene is Beijing, and in the middle of the capital's underground is SUBS, a 100% DIY punk unit with a cult domestic following. Throughout their career, SUBS has by choice remained the only band of its stature in China to maintain complete independence, booking all of their shows (including domestic and European tours) and releasing all of their records without a middleman despite having no alternate source of income.
