1961-1962 compiles some of the earliest recordings from one of France's most iconic and longest lasting yé-yé pop stars,
released way back when she was known by French journalists as "la collégienne du twist" or, translated, "the twisting
schoolgirl". Though only 16-18 years old at the time of these recordings, her mature vocal performances on this LP belie
her age as she rips through French language versions of Elvis' "Don't Be Cruel", Ray Charles' "What'd I Say?", The
Everly Brothers "Bye Bye Love" and lots more! Another fine offering from Doxy for the Francophile in all of us. This
title is a companion piece to DOY681LP and together they comprise Vartan's complete recordings from 1961-1962.
