Featuring 11 songs written by David Gedge and Simon Cleave, Take Fountain marked the end of The Wedding Present's nine-year gap between studio albums following 1996's Saturnalia. Recorded in Seattle by Steve Fisk, who also produced The Wedding Present's 1994 Watusi album.
