Wilde Flowers, The

The Wilde Flowers
The 2024 repress of the Wilde Flowers album pays homage to the band's significant role as one of the cornerstone acts in the development of the Canterbury scene during the mid-to-late '60s. Despite never officially releasing an album during their active years, their influence resonates deeply within the genre. Following their departure, members went on to form two seminal groups within the Canterbury sound: Soft Machine (comprising Robert Wyatt, Kevin Ayers, and Hugh Hopper) and Caravan (featuring David Sinclair, Richard Sinclair, Pye Hastings, and Richard Coughlan). Named as a tribute to Oscar Wilde, this album, originally released in 1994, presents a selection of their rarest gems.
