2nd album from Sacramento native and Los Angeles based art rocker, conjures up Sister-era Sonic Youth like tunes, while also channeling Portishead's Dummy-esque sound (check out track Movie Screen). Also musters up Zola Jesus (Wasteland) and apes early PJ Harvery on track (Moses). It speaks favorably to Wolfe's abilities that she's able to approximate all these different styles successfully. Metal-like processional nuances and lilting Gregorian chants make her truly different. Recently she did an amazing cover of Burzum's "Black Spell of Destruction. " Wolfe has also just signed with Los Angeles' label/management Sargent House (Boris, Russian Circles, Mars Volta).
