Tolman, Russ

New Quadrophonic Highway

Seventh album by the Us songwriter from San Francisco after the release of his critically acclaimed Blue Rose debut "City lights" in March 1998. In the mid-80s Russ Tolman co-invented the so-called "No depression" sound with guitar rockers TRUE WEST. The new album is a musical cocktail which is hard to define: Is it Cosmic American Music! Tunes for Space Truckers? Trailer Park Techno? Anyway the usual trademark Tolmanisms are there: wicked guitar solos, deep husky voice and witty lyrics. Album also includes contributions from Tolman friends: Steve Wynn, John Wesley harding, Tom Heyman (Go to Blazes) and Dale Duncan.
