Somerset Thrower are a quartet from Long Island, NY who play melodic indie/punk reminiscent of Garden Variety and The Agent. In fact, the band features members of The Agent, a pop-punk/alt band that rose to prominence in the mid-2000s along with Title Fight and Tigers Jaw. Somerset Thrower play catchy, hook-laden punk songs that grab you instantly but that pull from the 1990s alt-rock/grunge playbook, resulting in something new and exciting but at the same time instantly familiar. With a sound that straddles both indie and pop-punk you can catch Somerset playing with bands as diverse as Iron Chic, Self Defense Family, Banquets, Wildhoney, and Weed Hounds.
